Weight Loss: 2 Month Recap

Left: January 20, 2014 - 149.4 lbs
Right: March 20, 2014 - 137.4 lbs

As a part of my New Year's Resolutions, I've been trying to lose some weight (along with every other person on the planet).  What's more, I'm trying to lead a healthier lifestyle - complete with a better diet and more exercise.  After two months of (generally) continuous exercise and better eating, I've managed to lose 12 pounds.

I had a few set backs this past month - one major one being Spring Break.  Instead of going to Cancun like everyone else, I decided to spend my break at home with my family.  However, during the day, I was the only one home - meaning I got bored quite easily, which is where food came into the picture.  Just like when I first started gaining weight when I was in High School, I ate bad food whenever I had nothing better to do.  Thankfully, I was semi-able to restrain myself, and I ended up maintaining my weight throughout the week.  Yet, the stress of college and life is always a hindrance for me, so I ended up not losing much weight this past month - only 3 pounds.

During these past two months, I've been using Weight Watchers, as a simple method of keeping track of how much I eat throughout the day.  I went quite in depth in last month's recap, so you can look there for more information on the program itself.  I have found the process to work well for me when I continue to use it.  On days when I forget to track my food, I tend to eat more and eat less healthy.  Therefore, I do find the program to be working for me - but I find that I need to make sure to use the program in order to see results!

Nonetheless, I refuse to look at a loss of 3 pounds as a failure - I still lost weight!  No matter how big or small, weight loss is still weight loss and I'm still proud of how far I've come.  Although I still want to lose more weight, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I feel like I'm learning more about what I want from this journey and why I want it along the way.

Are you on a weight loss journey?  How is it going for you?
