FOTD: Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil

Today I decided to play around with a few new products that I've recently purchased (see New In: Drugstore Beauty Haul here).  One item that really stood out to me is the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil in Love Is Blonde. The brow tint allows for natural-looking hairs to be drawn into the eyebrows, while the pencil fills brows in in a few easy swipes!  This is great alternative to the more expensive brow pencils like the ones from Hourglass & Tom Ford, as long as you can get hold of it!  Unfortunately, this isn't available in the US, as far as I know; therefore, I purchased mine off of eBay.  However, it still ended up being much less expensive than the Hourglass or Tom Ford versions!

New In: Drugstore Beauty Haul

After buying very little makeup for the past few months, I decided to treat myself to a few new bits from Ulta.  Currently, Ulta is hosting a '21 Days of Beauty' Event, which has a bunch of steals and deals up for grabs until the beginning of April.  That being said, once the need arose to purchase a new mascara, I knew exactly where to go!

A cult classic, and at such a great price!  I've heard loads about this particular brow gel, and after being totally underwhelmed by the Anastasia version (at nearly 4x the price, may I add), I thought a drugstore version might suit my brows and my pocket better.

I haven't heard much about this mascara, but I'm hoping this mascara will give tons of volume without making my lashes crunchy - you know that feeling.  Slightly more expensive than the average drugstore mascara, but with the usual Ulta 'buy one get one half off' sales, it comes out to a decent price!

Left to Right: Soap & Glory Brow Pencil & Tint, Revlon Lip Butters in Strawberry Shortcake & Juicy Papaya

After owning and loving two of these bad boys (Pink Truffle and Peach Parfait, for reference), I thought it was time to add a few new lip butters to the mix.  I initially opted for Juicy Papaya, hoping it would be a dupe for one my all-time favorite sheer lipsticks - YSL Rouge Volupté Sheer Candy in 02 Dewy Papaya ($34).  Although they are similar, the Revlon version is more pigmented, but otherwise they give a similar finish and gloss to the lips - I think I just saved myself $26.  I also picked up Strawberry Shortcake, mostly because there was 'buy one get one half off' on Revlon products, but also in hopes of a perfect summery pink shade!  I haven't tried this one yet, but my hopes are high and I will report back soon enough.

Once I got to the counter to purchase everything, I was shocked to find out that as part of Ulta's '21 Days of Beauty' Event, they were giving away a free full-sized version of this!  I'm not sure what the minimum is to receive this, perhaps $20 (which is just below what I spent)?  I've always wanted to try something from the It's A 10 line, but the price point always put me off.  This Keratin version is meant to be used 1-2x a week, instead of regular hair oil which I use after every hair wash.  I'm so excited to try this, so head to your local Ulta to see if they have any in stock for Free GWP!

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil in Love Is Blonde - £10
Finally, I received this yesterday in the post after purchasing this hyped up brow pencil.  I ended up ordering it off of eBay, which is always a little sketchy, but useful, nonetheless.  Although I have light brown hair, this shade matches my brows perfectly, giving a dark blonde/light brown tint to my brows.  I use the marker bit to draw on little hairs into my brows, and then go over everything with the pencil, afterwards. Unfortunately, this isn't available in the US, as far as I know, but if you have Soap & Glory makeup readily available near you, I would definitely recommend giving this a go!

Weight Loss: 2 Month Recap

Left: January 20, 2014 - 149.4 lbs
Right: March 20, 2014 - 137.4 lbs

As a part of my New Year's Resolutions, I've been trying to lose some weight (along with every other person on the planet).  What's more, I'm trying to lead a healthier lifestyle - complete with a better diet and more exercise.  After two months of (generally) continuous exercise and better eating, I've managed to lose 12 pounds.

I had a few set backs this past month - one major one being Spring Break.  Instead of going to Cancun like everyone else, I decided to spend my break at home with my family.  However, during the day, I was the only one home - meaning I got bored quite easily, which is where food came into the picture.  Just like when I first started gaining weight when I was in High School, I ate bad food whenever I had nothing better to do.  Thankfully, I was semi-able to restrain myself, and I ended up maintaining my weight throughout the week.  Yet, the stress of college and life is always a hindrance for me, so I ended up not losing much weight this past month - only 3 pounds.

During these past two months, I've been using Weight Watchers, as a simple method of keeping track of how much I eat throughout the day.  I went quite in depth in last month's recap, so you can look there for more information on the program itself.  I have found the process to work well for me when I continue to use it.  On days when I forget to track my food, I tend to eat more and eat less healthy.  Therefore, I do find the program to be working for me - but I find that I need to make sure to use the program in order to see results!

Nonetheless, I refuse to look at a loss of 3 pounds as a failure - I still lost weight!  No matter how big or small, weight loss is still weight loss and I'm still proud of how far I've come.  Although I still want to lose more weight, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I feel like I'm learning more about what I want from this journey and why I want it along the way.

Are you on a weight loss journey?  How is it going for you?

March Beauty Wishlist

Another month, another wishlist...

Despite having recently backed off on the amount of beauty products I purchase, there are still a few choice items I'm dying to add into the mix!

This looks like the perfect dupe for my beloved Tom Ford Brow Sculptor, which is currently just a tinge dark for my brows.  What's more, this rings in at $10 cheaper, making the extortionate price somewhat more justifiable.

I've recently just run out of this baby - I purchased this in August and haven't put it down since!  I'm desperate to get my hands on this again even after only a week of being without it.  However, I have some other products that need to be used up before I can allow for a repurchase.

Am I a cliche or what?  This is currently one of the MOST hyped up skincare brands/products out there.  But, what can I say, my curiosity has got the better of me and I have a feeling this will be purchased in a few short months (i.e. the amount of time it will take me to save up for the damn thing)!

This has got to be one of the most beautifully packaged bronzers out there - and I can't stop thinking about it.  Despite having about 6 other bronzers I should be using up, all I want to do is click the 'Place Order' button for this baby!  Basically, this purchase is totally inevitable.

What's on your wishlist?
