NOTD - Essie's 'Skirting The Issue'

Last month, Essie came out with it's Fall 2012 Collection: Stylenomics.  It came out with 6 beautiful colors, but as I am studying abroad this year, I could only bring so much nail polish with me, so I opted for two of their colors: Skirting the Issue and Don't Sweater It (which I stupidly left at home :/ ).

I chose 'Skirting the Issue' because of it's beautiful dark wine color, a color I have nothing like, at all.

I'm not a master at Nail Polish application, by any means, so forgive the sloppy job.  This picture was taken in sunlight (along with flash), and is pretty accurate to what the color looks like when in sunlight.  This is with 2 coats and a top coat (Sally Hansen's Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat).

Looking at my nails as I write this (underneath artificial lighting), the color looks like a dark merlot color, darker from the picture above.  So here is a picture of nails in this lighting:

As you can see, it's slightly darker than it looks in sunlight.  It's a beautiful color and applies really well (as all Essie polishes do), my only complaint is that I painted my nails about 24 hours ago and there is already some tiny chipping happening on my index finger (as you can see in the picture above).  Otherwise Essie has hit the nail on the head with this color for fall!

I got this polish from Ulta for $8!
